Terms & How It Works
Plain-English terms for using Axly's Customs Wallpapers, including a detailed explanation of how sign-in works, because "magic link" sounds weirder than it is.
1. What this is
Axly's Customs Wallpapers is a tiered AI-generated wallpaper service. A new original wallpaper is published roughly daily. Each wallpaper is produced in five resolutions: desktop FHD (1920×1080), desktop QHD (2560×1440), desktop 4K (3840×2160), ultrawide (3440×1440), and mobile portrait (1080×1920).
The service is run by Axly's Customs (a one-person workshop at axly.com). By using this site you agree to the terms below.
2. The three tiers
- Anonymous: Free. You see the Wallpaper of the Week only.
- Email: Free, requires email sign-in. You unlock the Wallpaper of the Week plus the ten most recently published wallpapers.
- Pro: $2.99/month via Stripe. You unlock the full archive plus the day's newest wallpaper the moment it lands.
3. How sign-in works (read this)
We never use passwords. Sign-in uses a one-click email link, a "magic link." Here's the whole thing in plain English:
To sign in (or sign up, same flow)
- Type your email into the sign-in form on the homepage.
- Check your inbox. You'll get a one-click link from
wallpapers@axly.com. - Click the link. You're signed in. That's it.
Important details about the link
- The link expires in 15 minutes and can only be used once. If it expires, request a new one. No harm done.
- The link signs you in only on the browser where you click it.
- If you don't see the email, check spam. If it's not there in a few minutes, request a new one. It may have been dropped silently.
Your session
- After you click the link, we set a sign-in cookie on your browser that lasts 30 days. During those 30 days you don't need to sign in again on that same browser.
- If you clear cookies, use a different browser, or sign out, the session is gone from that device, but your account is fine.
Your Pro subscription is tied to your email, not your device
This is the part people worry about: if you paid for Pro and then sign out, switch browsers, clear cookies, or get a new phone, you do not lose Pro. Your subscription lives with Stripe, attached to the email you used at checkout. When you sign back in with that same email:
- The server looks up your account by email.
- It confirms your subscription is still active in Stripe.
- You're Pro again, immediately. No re-payment, no customer service ticket.
You can be "signed in" on as many devices as you want simultaneously (each device has its own 30-day session), but you have one account, one Pro subscription, one email. Sharing the email with friends so they can freeload isn't cool (see section 5), but it's also technically possible and we trust you not to do it.
Changing your email
We don't have a self-serve "change email" flow yet. If you need to move your account to a new address (new job, new provider, changed your mind), email wallpapers@axly.com from the old address and I'll merge them manually.
Forgetting me entirely
There's no password to forget. If you want to sign out everywhere: sign out on each device, or email me and I'll invalidate all your sessions at once. To delete your account, email me and I'll remove your user record from the database. Your Stripe subscription (if any) will be canceled in the same step.
4. Pro subscription specifics
- Payment runs through Stripe. I never see or store your card number. Stripe holds it; my database only stores your Stripe customer and subscription IDs.
- Billing is $2.99 USD per month, recurring, and cancellable any time.
- When you cancel, Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period, then your tier quietly drops back to Email. No data deleted; just a tier change.
- Refunds: I'll refund a charge you didn't want within a reasonable window. Just email me. I'm a one-person shop, not a chargeback dispute department; reaching out directly is way faster and friendlier for everyone.
- If a payment fails, you have a grace period (Stripe's default is ~3 retry attempts over a few days) before the subscription is canceled automatically.
5. Using the wallpapers
- Personal use only. Put them on your devices, share a screenshot of your desktop, use them as wallpapers. That's it.
- No redistribution. Don't repost the full-resolution files to other sites, no "pack downloads," no Discord servers mirroring the archive.
- No commercial use. Don't put them on merch, in YouTube thumbnails, in client work, or as a product backdrop. If you want commercial rights on a specific piece, email me and we can talk.
6. What I store about you
- Your email address (required for sign-in).
- Your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, if you subscribe. Stripe holds the payment details; I don't.
- A log of which wallpapers you downloaded, when, at what resolution, and a hashed version of your IP address (for abuse prevention; the raw IP is never stored).
- Short-lived sign-in tokens and session records, both with expiry dates.
I don't sell data. I don't share it with advertisers. Sign-in emails go through Resend (a transactional email provider), and that's the only third party your email address touches.
7. Service availability
I aim for "reliably good" but can't promise 100% uptime. The backend runs on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare Pages, which are very reliable, but occasional incidents happen. If the service is down for a meaningful stretch during a Pro billing period, email me and I'll credit or refund proportionately. On top of that, for every day the service is down, I'll upload two extra wallpapers once things are back. Consider it interest on your patience.
8. Changes to these terms
If the terms change in a way that affects existing subscribers materially (like pricing, refund policy, or how your data is handled), I'll email you before the change takes effect. Minor wording edits I'll just update in place.
